Come listen to students and faculty talk about their experiences attending the 2011 Women’s Worlds Congress in Ottawa, Canada. The theme of the conference this year was “Inclusions, exclusions, and seclusions: Living in a globalized world”. Some of the big questions the conference was concerned with are: Does globalization include, exclude, and/or seclude women? As global hierarchies realign, how are gender roles and identities evolving? How are social identifications like power, privilege, citizenship, and nation affected?
The lecture focuses on introducing some traditional Chinese folk decorated art especially the folk art of Shanxi Province and how the art students of Xi’an University get inspirations and ideas from these traditional arts and then create and design some new forms of modern arts.
The Study Abroad Pre-Departure orientation is required for all Spring 2012 study abroad participants. We will talk about health, safety, insurance, and intercultural learning strategies, etc. Study abroad returnees and some experts in certain areas will be invited.
Browse through booths promoting our study abroad programs and speak with international students who represent the country. Additionally, enjoy lunch with us while watching dance performances, listening to poetry being read and the beautiful voices of our international students presenting traditional songs.
