How to apply for study abroad on-line:

All Saint Mary's College study abroad programs require an on-line application.  Please select the program you are interested in from the CWIL Study Abroad web page, and follow the directions below to begin your study abroad application.

  • First choose a study abroad program you are interested in. Click here for a complete list of the Saint Mary's programs.
  • To start your application, please click the "apply now" button at the top of the program web page  You will be directed to the on-line application program brochure page which provides more details about the program you choose. 
  • To start the application process, click the "Apply Now" button on the program brochure page.
  • Next, you will be asked whether you are currently a registered user at Saint Mary's.  Saint Mary's students click "Yes" and then enter your regular SMC username and password.  This will begin the application process.
  • Non-Saint Mary's students, please click "No" and follow the User Identification Wizard.  You need to complete the New User Form (login new user) to create your application account.  An auto email will be sent to the email address you provide.  Please follow the login instructions in the email you receive to login to the application process. 
  • For future login, you may click the "Apply Button" at the top of this instruction page or save the URL of http://saintmarys.studioabroad.com/.

**ND Students need to complete the Saint Mary's College Course Approval (pdf) form signed by an academic advisor and college dean before applying to Saint Mary's College semester-long programs. Please check the Policy on Notre Dame Students Attending Saint Mary's College International Programs for the application details.**

Application Deadlines

The application deadlines are APPROXIMATE.  Applications are usually due around the mid-semester point of the semester prior to going abroad.  For example:

  • Summer/Fall/Year: March 1
  • Spring: October 15
  • Spring Break: December 1
