Artist’s Reception, Talk and Book-Signing with JAN SEABAUGH

Featuring original water-color illustrations for two beloved children’s tales from the Soviet era newly translated by the artist into English: “Dr. Ouch” by Chukovsky and “Where Does the Water Come From?” by Shookuhi.
Jan Seabaugh will discuss her art and the challenges of translating in word and image from one culture to another, especially in children’s literature. She is a college teacher, poet, writer, translator and artist. She received her Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas and currently teaches at Saint Mary’s College in the English Department and the Writing Program.
